As the gallery enters its tenth season, we're excited to announce a new publishing initiative to promote the work by photographers who exhibit at Candela Gallery. Candela Books will be publishing limited edition catalogs for each upcoming gallery exhibition.
THE CANDELA COLLECTION
The mission of the Candela Collection is to support photographers through the purchase of original photographic work and to actively pursue opportunities to donate said works to a notable permanent collection. The Candela Collection currently includes photographic artworks and fine art photography books.

![With grateful hearts, we finally turn our backs to 2020. We went into the year ready for bigger and better things. We had just grown to a full time staff of three, launched a brand new website, and were gearing up for new programming. We opened the year with beautiful work by Alanna Airitam and Patty Carroll. We were fortunate to host our first (and only) artist dinner of the year, thoughtfully crafted by local chef, Jessica Wilson.
We were thrilled to be part of NCECA with two ceramics/photography shows, curated by Jason Hackett, when the world as we all knew it was turned upside down.
This past year brought us lessons on intentionality, flexibility, mindfulness, and setting expectations. It brought new discussions and new connections. We asked questions about ourselves, our role, and the world around us. We yelled, we cried, but we also found times to laugh and be thankful.
In the midst of all of this, we were honored to be able to continue supporting artists and providing opportunities where there would not have been before. We held not one, but two open calls – one of which will be on the walls for you to see, in real life, in a matter of days. The other was our largest UnBound! to date. We introduced exhibition catalogs and virtual exhibitions in order to reach you in new ways.
